Bridget + Marci

We are Storytellers.

Stories bring us together

Marci and Bridget met in their kids’ karate dojo. Every Tuesday, the kids learned karate while the new friends got to know each other’s lives on the metal folding chairs in the waiting room. They leaned into unrehearsed chronicles of their lives, without judgment or apology. Those metal chairs became symbols of authenticity (but we made them pink and cozier!)

In 2022, the friends created a magazine to share their experience with women on Boston’s South Shore. In 2026, the magazine went online, expanded beyond its Northeastern roots, and created a movement that connects women across the country.

Welcome! There’s a pink chair here waiting for you!

Our Mission:

Pink Chair Storytellers Magazine is a collection of first-person stories from women, for women. Our mission is to document her story and ensure that history includes her experiences and contributions. We believe that a woman’s truth will create empathy. Empathy creates community. Community is connection. We all need connection.

On the pages of Pink Chair Storytellers, you’ll read her personal essay, not articles written for her or about her. Our Storytellers know they are in a safe place to be authentic and uncensored. When she gives you her story, you are getting a gift.

    • Culture Comments- Let’s talk about how you live in the world with influences like music, beauty, age, advocacy, parenting, theater, food, or advertising.

  • We only accept first-person essays and stories. Take the pressure off yourself! We aren’t looking for a professional writer! We believe that controlling your narrative is the only way to share the power of your story. Remember, we want to hear it from your seat!

  • We have very simple rules:

Rule #1: Write freely! And keep in mind that it is not your job to make me feel better about you. Refrain from censoring your life story to make me more comfortable.

Rule #2: Write to the woman who needs to hear your story. She is working through her own and needs the validation of your story. Yes, you are helping another woman.

Rule #3: Control your own narrative. Keep it first person and please do not submit an article someone wrote about you.

Rule #4: No judgment of others. No male bashing.

  • We do not pay our Storytellers or contributors at this time.

  • Bridget and Marci are a powerhouse team! We love to hear your stories and we want what’s best for you. We work closely with your story so that you’re happy with it before it goes live. It’s not our story, it’s yours. Don’t release anything until you’re happy with it.

Keep in mind that there are two of us behind the scenes, and we publish feature content every 3 months.
